What you'll do
- Execute a range of joinery tasks, including the installation of doors, windows, and cabinetry, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to accurately assess project requirements and timelines.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and other tradespeople to coordinate work schedules and ensure timely project completion.
- Utilize various hand and power tools safely and effectively to carry out joinery work, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing structures, providing solutions that enhance durability and aesthetics.
- Assist in the selection of materials and tools, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness in all projects.
- Uphold safety standards and regulations on site, promoting a culture of safety among team members.
- Mentor and train apprentices or junior joiners, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster skill development within the team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the construction process, demonstrating problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time spent on tasks and materials used, to facilitate project tracking and reporting.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions, contributing to a collaborative work environment.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a joiner or carpenter, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools relevant to joinery work.
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in construction.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and clients.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials as needed.
- A valid driving license is preferred to facilitate travel to various job sites.
