Senior Manager will own the end-to-end delivery of complex accounting advisory initiatives for clients navigating the digital asset ecosystem. This role requires leading engagements that span accounting remediation, finance transformation, and audit readiness for a diverse portfolio of venture-backed, high-growth, pre-IPO, and public companies. The Senior Manager will act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise on digital asset accounting, crypto transaction activity, and valuation support. They will be responsible for mentoring junior team members while actively contributing to the growth of the practice through business development and thought leadership. Success in this role hinges on the ability to coordinate across multiple workstreams, including client executives, auditors, legal, and technology teams, to ensure seamless execution. The position involves leading process improvement and implementing scalable financial reporting processes that address the unique challenges of the digital asset space. Ultimately, the hire will drive measurable impact by ensuring clients achieve secure, compliant, and efficient financial operations.

What you'll do
Lead digital asset accounting engagements where clients require accounting remediation, finance transformation, audit readiness, and scalable financial reporting processes.
Serve as a subject matter expert on digital asset accounting, crypto transaction activity, valuation support, reconciliation methodologies, and audit evidence.
Own client delivery across audit readiness, technical accounting, finance transformation, IPO readiness, SEC reporting, audit coordination, and other transaction-related initiatives.
Lead the recreation, remediation, and reconciliation of accounting records across general ledger, subledger, wallet, exchange, and operational data sources.
Advise clients on complex accounting issues while developing practical, scalable solutions and ensuring successful implementation.
Coordinate directly with client executives, auditors, legal, tax, operations, technology teams, and Cfgi leadership to deliver successful engagements across multiple workstreams.
Lead process improvement initiatives and implementation of scalable accounting, reporting, and internal control processes.
Mentor Managers and Consultants by providing technical leadership, coaching, and professional development.
Contribute to recruiting, proposal development, client relationship management, thought leadership, and business development initiatives.
Perform detailed testing and analysis of digital asset transactions, wallet reconciliations, and exchange confirmations to validate financial data integrity.
Develop and maintain robust documentation of processes, controls, and methodologies specific to digital asset accounting and reporting.
Collaborate with technology partners to assess and implement tools that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of digital asset accounting operations.
Translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable guidance for clients operating within the digital asset landscape.
Support the identification of new service line opportunities and contribute to the expansion of Cfgi's Digital Assets practice.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in Big 4 audit, accounting advisory, capital markets advisory, transaction advisory, and/or corporate accounting and finance, including a minimum of 2 years of experience at a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, or PwC).
Experience leading accounting advisory engagements involving audit readiness, technical accounting, finance transformation, IPO readiness, SEC reporting, transaction support, and/or public company reporting.
Experience serving as a trusted advisor while leading multiple client engagements within a consulting, advisory, or public accounting environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex engagements from scoping through delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
Strong proficiency in U.S. GAAP, particularly as it applies to digital assets, intangible assets, and emerging business models.
Solid understanding of SEC reporting requirements and technical accounting guidance relevant to public companies and pre-IPO entities.
Proven capacity to lead and mentor junior staff, including Managers and Consultants, in a collaborative and results-driven environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical executive stakeholders.
Nice to have
CPA license.
Experience with digital asset accounting platforms, blockchain analytics tools, ERP systems, or financial reporting technologies.
Experience supporting publicly traded digital asset companies or companies preparing for IPO.
Experience with emerging regulatory guidance impacting digital assets and cryptocurrency accounting.
