In this pivotal leadership position, you will oversee the daily operations of our vehicle reconditioning center located in Greenfield. What you'll do
- Oversee and coordinate daily operations within the vehicle reconditioning facility to ensure smooth workflows.
- Lead, mentor, and train a diverse team comprising at least five leads and up to 70 frontline associates, fostering professional growth and teamwork.
- Implement strategic objectives while achieving production, quality, and cost efficiency targets.
- Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of new staff members to build a strong team.
- Monitor production capacity, ensuring that all operational lines function optimally and meet demand.
- Enforce safety regulations, loss prevention strategies, and adherence to company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and resolving operational challenges to enhance efficiency.
- Analyze performance metrics and provide constructive feedback to team members to drive improvement and achieve results.
- Collaborate with other departments to align operational goals with overall company objectives.
- Maintain a high level of communication with upper management regarding operational performance and team dynamics.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards in the reconditioning process.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of management experience in the automotive sector or within a lean manufacturing environment is essential.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies is required to optimize processes.
- Demonstrated success in team development and achieving project objectives is crucial.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
- A valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record for the past three years is mandatory.
- Strong computer skills are necessary for data management and reporting.
- Effective communication skills in English are required for interaction with team members and management.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed to meet operational demands.
- Physical capability to walk up to three miles daily, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to different temperatures, noise levels, and potential fumes.
Nice to have
- Experience in a high-volume automotive reconditioning environment would be advantageous.
- Certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Previous experience with performance management systems and tools is beneficial.
