About the role
Carvana is seeking entry-level Automotive Detailers to join our team, where you will own the responsibility of presenting vehicles in impeccable condition to our customers. In this role, you will own the complete detailing process, which involves washing, interior cleaning, and exterior buffing to ensure every vehicle meets our high standards. You will own the mission of protecting the customer experience by meticulously preparing each car for its new owner. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and quality as you operate vehicle equipment and tools on a daily basis. You will own the task of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing production demands. Your role will directly contribute to our reputation as the fastest-growing used automotive retailer in U.S. history. Key facts
What you'll do
Operate vehicle equipment and tools to detail cars to the highest standards.
Wash vehicles thoroughly, ensuring all exterior surfaces are clean and free of contaminants.
Perform interior cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
Execute exterior buffing and polishing to restore paint and eliminate minor imperfections.
Inspect vehicles for any missed spots or issues during the detailing process.
Coordinate with team members to move vehicles efficiently through the production line.
Maintain a safe and organized work area by adhering to safety protocols and tool management.
Use personal protective equipment, including face shields, goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, and masks.
Adapt to working in varied weather conditions, including exposure to heat and cold during vehicle movement.
Support the overall customer experience by ensuring every vehicle is presentation-ready.
Requirements
Must be able to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment while sometimes being exposed to excessive weather conditions such as heat and cold.
Must use safety equipment that may include but is not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Must comply with all company safety policies and procedures at all times while performing job duties.
Must be able to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment.
Nice to have
Previous experience in automotive detailing or a related field.
Familiarity with automotive tools and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Basic knowledge of vehicle components and finishes.
Practical notes
This role may require mandatory overtime based on business needs.
Employees must be able to work flexible shifts to meet operational demands.
Travel is not required for this position.
