About the role

We are seeking passionate General Practitioners to join our online medical network and support thousands of Australians living with chronic conditions through the Juniper weight-management program. You will conduct telehealth consultations, assessing, screening, diagnosing, and prescribing medication where appropriate within our platform framework. The role involves delivering prompt, empathetic care that ensures patients receive an exceptional clinical experience while working remotely or from our Sydney office. You will adhere to our platform guidelines and policies, completing all required training to maintain compliance and quality standards. The position offers flexibility in scheduling with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, allowing you to take open shifts that suit your availability. You will collaborate closely with other qualified specialists, including prescribers, nurses, health coaches, pharmacists, and dietitians, as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team. This role is ideal for GPs who value structured clinical pathways combined with the autonomy to manage their workload and patient interactions.

What you'll do

Conduct comprehensive telehealth consultations for patients enrolled in the Juniper program, focusing on chronic condition management and weight care.

Screen and assess patient eligibility, reviewing medical histories and clinical data to determine appropriate care pathways within platform protocols.

Prescribe medication where clinically appropriate, working within established guidelines and in collaboration with our pharmacy network.

Coordinate with dietitians, health coaches, and pharmacists to deliver integrated, patient-centered care that addresses both medical and behavioral needs.

Monitor patient progress through scheduled follow-ups, adjusting treatment plans based on clinical response and adherence data.

Utilize our digital platform to document consultations, track outcomes, and communicate securely with other healthcare professionals involved in patient care.

Apply clinical judgment to make timely referral decisions, ensuring patients receive the right level of care from our network or external providers.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines and program policies by completing all mandatory training modules and quality assurance activities.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on patient journeys, platform tools, and care coordination processes.

Support the broader mission of Eucalyptus by participating in research or data-driven projects that help refine clinical outcomes and patient experiences.

Engage with patients in a compassionate, clear manner that builds trust and encourages active participation in their health management.

Requirements

You must be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or Temporary Resident to be eligible for this role.

You must have completed at least PGY4+ training in medicine and hold general registration eligibility.

You must be able to obtain a provider number to facilitate pathology testing only, with no use of MBS attendance item numbers - refer and request only.

You must hold valid medical indemnity insurance that meets the standards required for telehealth practice in Australia.

You must be comfortable using technology to deliver care, manage electronic communications, and navigate digital health platforms.

You must demonstrate confidence in making timely, accurate referral decisions based on your clinical expertise while working under pressure.

You must be a clear, natural communicator who can convey medical information effectively to patients, health professionals, and team members.

You must adhere strictly to platform guidelines, policies, and all required training to ensure consistent and safe patient care.

Practical notes

This role offers flexible shift scheduling with a minimum requirement of 15 hours per week. You may choose to work from home or attend our Sydney office, depending on your preference and operational needs. As this is a remote-friendly position, travel is generally not required unless specific in-person obligations arise.
