Superintendent Mechanical

About the role

You will operate as the lead mechanical superintendent for international projects, owning the daily execution and coordination of all mechanical trades on site. You will work directly with project leadership to translate plans into actionable field operations while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards. This role requires you to manage complex multicultural subcontractor teams and resolve issues in real time to keep projects on schedule. You will be responsible for ensuring that mechanical installations comply exactly with drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements. You will exercise ownership over budgeting, quantity surveys, and material coordination to control costs and reduce waste. Success in this position depends on your ability to communicate clearly, lead under challenging conditions, and uphold the company's reputation abroad. You will be an ambassador of Caddell Construction, demonstrating professionalism and integrity in every engagement.

What you'll do

• Interpret project plans and mechanical specifications to develop comprehensive field strategies and installation sequences.
• Manage the performance of mechanical trades and subcontractors, directing workflow through foremen and ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Coordinate closely with project staff to verify that all work meets design standards, schedule milestones, and quality expectations.
• Conduct detailed reviews of mechanical plans, budgets, and estimates in collaboration with project management to clarify scope and resource needs.
• Facilitate weekly progress meetings with subcontractors to track accomplishments, address concerns, and plan upcoming activities.
• Support the setup of receiving areas, storage protocols, and material handling processes to safeguard equipment and reduce delays.
• Troubleshoot construction obstacles such as productivity shortfalls or interface conflicts between disciplines using structured problem-solving methods.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with project owners and engineering firms to encourage collaboration and mutual respect.
• Execute additional duties as assigned by project managers and superintendents to support shifting project demands.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for plumbing and mechanical systems to support bidding and procurement decisions.
• Uphold rigorous safety practices and ensure that all work environments meet applicable regulations and company standards.
• Adapt to construction settings that require extended hours, frequent travel, and full-time engagement on rotating assignments.
• Maintain physical readiness to work in confined spaces, at significant heights, and across varied weather conditions while handling heavy materials.
• Demonstrate flexibility in responding to client expectations, regulatory requirements, and project-specific constraints.

Requirements

• Must hold a high school diploma or General Educational Development credential as minimum education.
• Must possess a minimum of 15 years of total construction management experience with verified track record.
• Must include at least five years of design/build experience specifically with electrical systems in prior roles.
• A four-year degree in building science, construction management, or engineering is required for senior level consideration.
• Must hold at least 10 years of total construction management experience when applying the preferred education path.
• Must have a minimum of five years of design/build experience with electrical systems even when using the preferred academic background.
• Must be able to submit professional certifications upon request during the hiring process.
• Must successfully obtain a medical clearance before engaging in field duties on international sites.
• Must prove eligibility to work in the assigned country and comply with all local employment regulations.
• Must be capable of passing background checks and security screenings as required by project locations.
• Must maintain valid personal transportation and driving credentials if site access requires vehicle operation.
• Must commit to adhering to Caddell Construction policies, ethics, and operational procedures at all times.
