Key Responsibilities
The Compliance Coordinator
International supports the organization's international compliance program by ensuring that obligations are clearly defined and consistently followed. This includes reviewing international contracts and identifying applicable requirements from company policies, contractual terms, FAR clauses, regulations, and international standards. The role develops and maintains a comprehensive compliance catalog for each contract, documenting requirements, responsible parties, due dates, and supporting documentation.
Monitoring contract performance and business practices forms a core part of the position. The coordinator tracks compliance requirements and milestones, ensuring that commitments are met on schedule. They research and monitor changes in laws, regulations, FAR requirements, and international standards that could affect company operations or existing agreements. By comparing compliance requirements across contracts, the role identifies common requirements, gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for standardization.
Procedures, Standards, and Documentation
The coordinator develops, documents, and maintains compliance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support consistent execution of contract and regulatory requirements. This includes partnering with internal stakeholders to establish processes, controls, and accountability for meeting compliance obligations. Accurate and current compliance documentation, records, and supporting materials are maintained to provide clear evidence of adherence. The role also identifies opportunities to streamline compliance processes and improve consistency across Business Units and international operations.
Risk Assessment and Escalation
Compliance vulnerability assessments are conducted to identify potential areas of exposure, non-compliance, or operational risk. The coordinator supports formal compliance risk assessments and develops recommendations to mitigate identified risks. They evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and identify opportunities for improvement. Significant compliance concerns and potential contractual or regulatory violations are escalated to appropriate leadership for review and action.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Communication
Periodic reviews of contract compliance are performed to monitor completion of required actions. Compliance requirements, milestones, documentation, and corrective actions are tracked within the compliance catalog. The coordinator prepares reports and summaries that highlight compliance status, risks, gaps, trends, and recommended actions. These reports support internal compliance reviews, audits, and assessments. The role maintains visibility into upcoming regulatory, contractual, and compliance requirements to help Business Units remain proactive.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
The coordinator partners with Business Unit leaders, Contracts, Legal, Project Management, and other functions to understand contract requirements and support compliance execution. They provide guidance and resources to stakeholders regarding applicable requirements and help resolve compliance-related questions. By working closely with these teams, the role ensures that obligations are understood, controls are implemented, and compliance standards are maintained throughout the contract lifecycle.
Required Capabilities
The individual in this role must accurately identify requirements in contracts and rules without error. They must maintain organized records that clearly show ownership of each obligation. Monitoring performance against timelines and escalating issues when necessary is essential. The coordinator compares rules across agreements to find improved approaches and reports status clearly to leaders and partner teams.
Process and Workflow Ownership
The role owns the international compliance workflow from intake signals to final shipment. This involves translating regulations into clear controls and guardrails that keep contracts clean and operations moving within stated limits. Designing intake steps that capture contract rules before work proceeds ensures that compliance is considered early. Constructing catalog entries that track obligations across every international agreement provides a single source of truth.
Documentation and Process Improvement
Documenting processes allows teams to follow steps without repeated clarification. Updating stakeholders on changes that affect timelines, obligations, or risks supports shared understanding and timely response. The coordinator ships compliant deliverables by coordinating checks before client handoff and partners with teams to close gaps and sustain consistent execution. Mapping requirements across contracts highlights shared controls and conflicts, enabling more effective compliance management.
