The Senior Project Manager

Commercial at Caddell Construction owns the complete lifecycle of assigned projects from initial planning through closeout, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. This role is responsible for developing, training, and mentoring project managers and superintendents to elevate the overall capability of the project management team. The hire will assess the scope of work and resources required to successfully complete the project by verifying estimates and reviewing all contract documents for completeness. They supervise the total construction effort to ensure execution aligns with design, budget, and contractual obligations, while interfacing directly with the owner, architectural/engineering representatives, and subcontractors. The position involves planning, coordinating, and supervising onsite functions including scheduling, engineering, and material control, providing day-to-day direction to onsite administrative staff. Additionally, they provide technical assistance, such as interpreting drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment, and oversee the review of extra work estimating and the issuance of change orders. This role assumes full responsibility for safety, quality, and productivity of both subcontractors and Caddell craft employees, monitoring the efficient use of materials and equipment and ensuring contractual performance is maintained.

What you'll do

• Develops, trains and mentors project managers and superintendents.
• Assesss scope of work and resources required to successfully complete the project.
• Verifies project estimates for completeness with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, and all contract documents.
• Supervises total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and contractual requirements.
• Plans, coordinates and supervises onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control) and provides day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff.
• Provides technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, as required.
• Oversees and reviews extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
• Assumes responsibility for safety, quality and productivity of subcontractors as well as Caddell craft employees.
• Monitors the efficient use of materials and equipment and the contractual performance of the project.
• Prepares complete plan of construction and project schedules.
• Performs additional duties per executive management's direction.
• Strives to foster good work relations with customers and project stakeholders.
• Assists staff in review and compliance of company policies and procedures and job site safety protocols.
• Has full responsibility and accountability for developing, implementing and executing an effective Safety and Health Program on their project.
• Ensures all project documentation is organized, accurate, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma/GED and 15 years experience as a project manager.
• Four-year degree in engineering or construction management and 15 years' experience preferred.
• Experience with automation or manufacturing/production remodels preferred.
• Demonstrates leadership, concise execution of plans, vision of project future, and effective communication of vision to team members and stakeholders.
• Shows accountability, strong work ethic, and positive team environment aligning with The Caddell Way.
• Possesses the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for long periods of time, lift and hold in excess of 50lbs, talk, hear and occasionally sit.
• Must have the ability to withstand confined spaces and or/extreme heights while negotiating tasks at hand in a safe manner to themselves and/or others.
• Subject to hot, cold, humid and wet conditions depending on location.
• Full-time position with travel required between project sites across multiple states including Bentonville, AR; Jacksonville, FL; Woodstock, GA; Montgomery, AL; and Phoenix, AZ.
• Must be available for extended hours and weekend work as required by project demands and executive management.
• Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and job site safety protocols is mandatory.
• Valid driver's license required for travel between job sites and company facilities.
• Ability to obtain necessary security clearances or drug testing as required by company policy and client mandates.
• Willingness to relocate or accept assignments in any of the specified locations to meet organizational needs.
• Commitment to maintaining the safety and health program standards on every project.
• Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and producing technical documents, drawings, and schedules.
• Strong financial acumen to administer financial tracking systems and monitor project costs and forecast the remaining project cost.

Practical notes

This is a full-time position that requires significant travel to multiple job sites across the United States in states including but not limited to Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, and Arizona. The role may require extended work hours and weekend availability to meet project deadlines and executive expectations. Travel between states such as Bentonville, Jacksonville, Woodstock, Montgomery, and Phoenix is essential for successful project execution. The position is subject to physical demands including work in confined spaces, at extreme heights, and varying weather conditions such as hot, cold, humid, and wet environments. All team members must adhere to strict safety, health, and compliance standards as outlined by company policy and client requirements. Drug testing and security clearances may be required based on project mandates. Relocation or willingness to accept assignments in any of the specified locations is necessary for consideration.
