What you'll do

You will supervise craft employees assigned to a specific construction discipline, such as electrical, piping, structural steel erection, rebar work, or duct installation. It is your duty to provide a direct liaison between field engineering and craftspeople to guarantee that every activity complies exactly with the project drawings and specifications. You will assist in developing work schedules, determining appropriate manpower levels, calculating material quantities, and identifying necessary equipment. Monitoring the performance and productivity of crafts is essential to ensure adherence to project rules, procedures, and safety requirements. You will advise senior superintendents and project management of potential problems, work interference, or schedule difficulties, and assist in developing solutions. Maintaining communication with other departments, including Purchasing and engineering, is required to keep the construction schedule on track. You will perform any additional assignments directed by your supervisor to meet current project demands. Extensive travel is required, and you must be capable of working nationally across various project locations. You will interpret construction documents and field measurements to ensure accurate execution of the planned work. It is your responsibility to conduct regular site inspections and verify that installations are free of defects and comply with all applicable codes. You will track and report on material deliveries and inventory to prevent workflow interruptions on the job site. You will document daily progress and any incidents to support accurate project reporting and future decision-making.

Requirements

A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required; a four-year degree is preferred. You must possess effective written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate strong client relations abilities, as trust and reliability are paramount. Superior organizational skills are necessary to manage complex tasks and information with attention to detail. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is mandatory. You must be willing to accept roles that require national travel and adaptability to diverse project environments. The role requires working in construction conditions, including extended periods of standing, lifting weights over 50 pounds, and tolerating hot, cold, humid, and wet conditions depending on the location. The physical demands also include the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for long periods, as well as the ability to withstand confined spaces or extreme heights while performing tasks safely. You must be able to pass a drug test and background check as a condition of employment. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements. You must be at least 18 years of age to perform the essential functions of this role.
