About the role
The hire will serve as the primary legal and regulatory advisor for new product launches, features, and initiatives on the global platform, overseeing end-to-end involvement from initial concept through launch execution. They will conduct regulatory gap analyses for target jurisdictions to assess the permissibility and risk profile of product offerings in markets where the exchange has not yet obtained local licenses. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining product compliance frameworks, playbooks, and decision matrices for the global product team. The hire will advise Product, Tech, Business and Fiat teams on regulatory constraints, user eligibility requirements, geo-restrictions, and risk mitigation strategies while aligning these recommendations with internal guidelines. They will assess the regulatory classification of products such as spot trading, derivatives, lending, staking, earn products, launchpad offerings, and copy trading across multiple jurisdictions. The role will monitor global regulatory developments affecting product permissibility and proactively flag risks and opportunities to the business leadership and relevant stakeholders. Additionally, they will coordinate with Licensing Counsel and external advisors to align product launch timelines with licensing strategy and ongoing regulatory engagement. Finally, the hire will support the development of internal approval processes, including product governance review processes and sign-off workflows for new product rollouts.

What you'll do
Conduct regulatory gap analyses for target jurisdictions to evaluate the permissibility and risk profile of proposed product offerings in unlicensed markets.
Develop and maintain comprehensive product compliance frameworks, playbooks, and decision matrices tailored for the global product team.
Serve as the primary legal and regulatory advisor guiding new product launches, features, and initiatives through end-to-end implementation.
Assess the regulatory classification of diverse financial products including spot trading, derivatives, perpetuals, lending, staking, earn products, launchpad offerings, and copy trading across multiple jurisdictions.
Advise internal teams such as Product, Tech, Business, and Fiat on regulatory constraints, user eligibility requirements, geo-restrictions, and risk mitigation strategies.
Monitor global regulatory developments affecting digital asset products and proactively flag emerging risks and strategic opportunities to the business.
Coordinate closely with Licensing Counsel and external regulatory advisors to synchronize product launch timelines with licensing strategies and regulatory engagement plans.
Support the design and implementation of internal approval processes, including product governance review procedures and formal sign-off workflows for new product rollouts.
Prepare detailed regulatory risk assessments and internal memos to substantiate product decisions and provide clear guidance to senior leadership.
Implement and update product compliance documentation, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory expectations and internal policy standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate regulatory requirements into product design, user flows, and go-to-market strategies.
Provide clear, commercially actionable recommendations based on complex multi-jurisdictional regulatory analysis.
Champion best practices in regulatory compliance and product governance across the organization to ensure consistent execution.
Identify and mitigate potential regulatory bottlenecks that could delay product launches or restrict market access.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance playbooks, decision matrices, and governance frameworks.
Requirements
Law degree (LLB, JD, or equivalent); admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction is preferred.
3-6 years of experience in regulatory law, financial services law, or technology law with exposure to product advisory, fintech, or crypto.
Understanding of cryptocurrency product structures such as spot, derivatives, perpetuals, lending, staking, earn, NFTs and their regulatory treatment across jurisdictions.
Ability to conduct multi-jurisdictional regulatory analysis and present findings in clear, commercially actionable terms.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable navigating regulatory ambiguity and providing risk-based advice.
Strong written and verbal communication in English; additional languages especially Chinese are a plus.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with internal teams while also functioning independently.
Fast learner capable of hitting the ground running, taking ownership of projects, and demonstrating pride in the quality of work delivered.
Direct experience advising on crypto or digital asset products at an exchange, fintech, or financial institution.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing digital assets, crypto exchanges, and fintech products in key markets is essential.
Ability to interpret complex regulatory guidance and translate it into practical compliance requirements for product teams.
Strong attention to detail and high standards for accuracy in regulatory assessments and documentation.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
