Bybit is seeking a Head of Platform Product to lead the strategy and execution of its core trading and financial platform infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of product management, engineering, and business operations, driving the long-term roadmap for the exchange's foundational systems and services. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur and reports to senior leadership within the product organization, working closely with the broader executive team. The successful candidate will shape how millions of users interact with the platform on a daily basis, influencing every aspect of the trading experience from order entry to settlement.

What you'll do

Define and own the product vision for the trading platform, ensuring alignment with Bybit's overall business strategy and growth objectives across all regions. Lead a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and engineers across multiple time zones and office locations worldwide. Translate user research and market data into prioritized feature roadmaps that improve the trading experience and increase user engagement metrics. Partner with engineering leaders to assess technical feasibility, set architectural direction, and drive delivery of platform enhancements on schedule. Establish clear success metrics and key performance indicators to measure the impact of platform changes on user adoption and retention rates. Conduct regular reviews of platform performance and system reliability, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization across the entire technology stack. Represent the product team in cross-departmental meetings, communicating progress updates and gathering feedback from stakeholders in engineering, operations, and compliance. Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle from initial ideation through detailed specification, development, launch, iteration, and eventual sunsetting of features when needed. Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure all platform features meet regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions and evolving legal frameworks. Mentor and develop junior product managers, building a high-performing and scalable product organization capable of supporting rapid business growth. Drive experimentation and innovation initiatives to explore new product opportunities that strengthen Bybit's competitive position in the digital asset market. Coordinate with marketing and customer success teams to ensure product launches are well-supported and aligned with go-to-market strategies and timelines.

Requirements

Drive product strategy and execution for large-scale digital asset trading platforms with measurable results and consistent delivery. Bring 10 or more years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role. Demonstrate deep understanding of financial markets, exchange architectures, order matching engines, and the broader digital asset ecosystem. Have strong experience managing and scaling cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, and designers in fast-paced environments. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Show a track record of launching and iterating on complex platform products in high-growth, rapidly evolving technology companies. Hold a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, business administration, or a closely related field. Have experience working with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to financial technology, digital assets, and cryptocurrency services. Be comfortable making data-informed decisions under ambiguity and managing competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-moving organization. Have a global mindset with experience operating across different cultural contexts and time zones in international markets.

Nice to have

Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems commonly used in high-frequency trading environments. Familiarity with agile product development methodologies and continuous delivery practices in a SaaS context. Background in user experience research and data-driven decision making using analytics platforms. Previous exposure to international markets and multicultural team environments, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.

Skills & tools

Proficiency in product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and product analytics platforms. Strong understanding of SQL and data analysis for interpreting platform metrics and user behavior patterns. Familiarity with API design, RESTful services, and backend system architecture concepts at scale. Experience with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation methodologies to validate product hypotheses effectively. Knowledge of financial instruments, order types, and matching engine fundamentals in exchange platforms. Ability to create product requirements documents, user stories, and wireframes to communicate ideas clearly.

Practical notes

This role is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and requires on-site presence at the Bybit office. The position reports to the VP of Product or equivalent senior leadership within the organization. Candidates should be prepared to work within Malaysian business hours and collaborate with global teams across different time zones.
