What you'll do

• Lead a team of engineers in the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and supply chain, to identify engineering needs and develop effective solutions.
• Establish and implement engineering best practices, standards, and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
• Monitor project progress and performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior management on key milestones and challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in an engineering management role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative solutions and process improvements.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies, such as Agile or Lean principles.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as CAD, simulation software, and project management applications.

Nice to have

• Experience in the food processing or agricultural sector is a plus.
• Certification as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Alberta or equivalent.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices and initiatives in engineering.
• Experience with budget management and financial forecasting.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a unionized environment.
