You will own the end to end operations of fraud management within Brex's Intelligent Finance Platform. In this capacity, you will manage daily workflows related to transaction fraud, first-party fraud, and account takeovers while driving loss reduction and operational excellence. You will act as the company expert in fraud operations, owning critical decisions that impact risk, scale, and customer experience. This role requires autonomy to implement scalable processes and lead initiatives that strengthen our AI tools and fraud defenses. You will collaborate closely with policy, data science, and engineering teams to evolve our operating standards. What you'll do
Investigate and manage queues assigned to the Fraud Operations team to ensure timely and accurate resolution of fraud cases.
Develop and implement scalable operational processes for fraud management that improve consistency and throughput.
Make risk-based, subjective decisions on high-value and risky transactions as well as account offboarding activities.
Achieve company-level goals around financial fraud losses by monitoring key metrics and refining workflows.
Respond to cross-functional partners on escalations related to fraud, balancing risk considerations with delivering customer love.
Participate in streamlining fraud operational workflows around transaction review and account investigations.
Take ownership of Fraud Incident handling, including conducting root cause analysis and closing inefficiency gaps.
Own and ship projects on the Fraud Ops roadmap with full autonomy and accountability for outcomes.
Use AI tools to elevate and enhance fraud queues and project execution.
Partner with Policy, Data Science, and Engineering to improve tooling and scale internal operations for fraud.
Maintain up-to-date expertise on fraud trends and tactics to support proactive risk mitigation.
Document processes and decisions to ensure clarity, consistency, and continuous improvement.
Contribute to a culture of collaboration, transparency, and data-driven decision-making within the fraud operations function.
Support ad hoc initiatives that strengthen controls, efficiency, and customer trust across Brex's markets.
Requirements
Previous management or team leader experience is required for this role.
Strong communication skills are essential for working with cross-functional stakeholders and articulating decisions.
An upbeat attitude is required, along with the ability to remain calm under pressure and the desire to solve complex problems.
You must be able to work in the United States, specifically in the state of Utah, where this position is based.
This role requires a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, specifically Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
