What you'll do
- Design and develop wastewater treatment processes, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and operational requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and process evaluations to identify opportunities for system improvements and cost reductions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to create detailed project specifications and design documentation.
- Perform hydraulic and mass balance calculations to optimize treatment processes and enhance system performance.
- Oversee the implementation of new technologies and processes in wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring successful integration and operation.
- Conduct site assessments and inspections to evaluate existing systems and recommend upgrades or modifications as necessary.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, clearly communicating findings and recommendations.
- Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of wastewater treatment projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in wastewater treatment to inform project decisions and strategies.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to address complex engineering challenges and develop innovative solutions.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in wastewater treatment design and process engineering.
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment technologies, including biological, chemical, and physical processes.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, HYSYS, or similar applications for process design and simulation.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards governing wastewater treatment operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and present findings to clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to travel for site assessments and project-related activities as needed.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Experience with advanced treatment technologies, such as membrane bioreactors or nutrient removal processes.

- Previous experience working with municipal clients or in the public sector.
