What you'll do
- Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners, ensuring that all terms are favorable and compliant with company policies.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts adhere to applicable laws and regulations, mitigating risks associated with contractual obligations.
- Maintain an organized database of contracts and related documents, ensuring easy access and retrieval for audits and compliance checks.
- Develop and implement contract management processes and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in contract administration.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, identifying potential issues and working proactively to resolve them.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on contract management policies and procedures, fostering a culture of compliance and awareness within the organization.
- Prepare reports and analyses on contract performance metrics, presenting findings to senior management to inform decision-making.
- Assist in the development of proposals and bids, ensuring that all contractual obligations are clearly outlined and understood.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in contract management, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement within the organization.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams, providing contract expertise to support project objectives and timelines.
- Support the procurement process by evaluating supplier contracts and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and budgetary constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field; a Master's degree or Juris Doctorate is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration or management, preferably within the aerospace or technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of contract law and regulations, with the ability to interpret complex legal language.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and managing relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to identify potential risks and issues in contracts.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Nice to have
- Certification in Contract Management (e.g., CPCM, CCCM) is highly desirable.
- Experience with government contracts and compliance requirements, particularly in the aerospace industry.
