Bluecanyontech is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer II to join our dynamic team in Lafayette, Colorado. This full-time position is essential for supporting our procurement processes, ensuring that we maintain optimal inventory levels while adhering to budgetary constraints. Key facts

What you'll do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to understand material requirements and timelines for various projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules that align with company objectives.
• Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and evaluate their capabilities to meet our quality and delivery standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and analyze usage patterns to forecast future needs, ensuring that stock levels are optimized to prevent shortages or excess.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Work closely with the finance department to process invoices and resolve any discrepancies related to procurement activities.
• Implement and maintain procurement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs across the supply chain.
• Participate in supplier performance evaluations and assist in the development of improvement plans where necessary.
• Assist in the development of budgets for procurement activities and track spending against those budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Stay informed about industry trends and changes in the market that could impact procurement strategies and supplier relationships.
• Provide regular reports and updates to management regarding procurement activities, supplier performance, and inventory status.
• Support the continuous improvement of procurement processes by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or technology environment.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms from suppliers.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions based on findings.
• Proficient in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Familiarity with contract management and compliance regulations is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP systems, particularly those related to procurement and inventory management.
• Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is advantageous.
• Previous experience in the aerospace or defense industry is a plus, given Bluecanyontech's focus on these sectors.

• Proficient in procurement software and tools, including ERP systems for tracking inventory and orders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to utilize Excel for data analysis and reporting.
