Internship - Engineering
Job description
Internship - Engineering at Blp Digital.
About the role
BLP Digital is redefining ERP automation with agentic AI, and this internship places you at the heart of that mission. You will own the design, delivery, and reliability of production-grade solutions used by global enterprises on a daily basis. Depending on business priorities, you will actively contribute to either Forward Deployed Engineering or Internal Tooling & Applied AI initiatives that directly impact customers and internal teams. You will collaborate closely with our CTO, Sven Beck, and work alongside project and sales teams on live work from day one. This is your opportunity to build systems that matter in real enterprise environments while learning from leaders in technology and business process automation. If you thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings and want to shape the future of automation, this internship is where you will make a tangible difference.
Key facts
What you'll do
On Forward Deployed Engineering work, you will sit with end-users, process owners, and client engineers to uncover the real workflow and the underlying problem that needs solving. You will help translate the target-state process into a concrete technical solution, covering architecture, data models, integrations, agent design, and workflow orchestration. You will build full-stack capabilities using TypeScript backend services, external integrations, LLM orchestration, and evaluation frameworks to ensure robust performance. You will support live demos with real users and incorporate their feedback directly into the next iteration of the solution. Once solutions go live, you will own observability and evaluations, iterating until the system operates reliably under actual customer conditions.
On Internal Tooling & Applied AI work, you will build and ship AI-powered internal tools with speed, turning ideas into working systems in days and weeks rather than quarters. You will evaluate, integrate, and chain the latest AI models, APIs, and frameworks such as LLMs, agent frameworks, embedding pipelines, and AI coding tools into practical internal solutions. You will write clean, maintainable code that integrates smoothly with existing systems, including APIs, databases, and third-party services. You will take ownership of deployments from start to finish, building, testing, shipping, and monitoring solutions in production environments. Through this work, you will directly improve how our team hires, manages finance, and optimizes operations using cutting-edge AI techniques.
Requirements
You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a Master's degree in Engineering with relevant Computer Science coursework, providing a strong technical foundation for this role. You have hands-on experience with modern AI tooling, including LLM APIs, AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or Cursor, agent frameworks, or workflow automation platforms that enable rapid prototyping. You are comfortable with TypeScript or are confident in your ability to become proficient quickly, demonstrating an aptitude for picking up new tools and technical stacks efficiently. You possess a fast-moving, entrepreneurial mindset, evidenced by building real projects such as side projects, hacks, or tools that actual users find valuable and engaging. You enjoy collaborating with non-technical stakeholders and can transform ambiguous, half-stated problems into clear, actionable, and working solutions. You are comfortable operating within environments of ambiguity and adapting to fast feedback cycles without losing momentum or quality. You communicate effectively in English, with fluency required, and knowledge of German is considered a valuable asset for collaboration. You have exposure to ERP or complex business-process environments, or experience with tools such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, NetSuite, Make, n8n, Retool, or Supabase, which would strengthen your ability to contribute quickly.
Nice to have
Previous exposure to enterprise resource planning systems, business process management, or automation platforms is highly relevant for understanding the domain and accelerating impact. Experience working with AI agents, tool-calling patterns, and evaluation frameworks for LLM-based systems will help you contribute effectively to both engineering and product discussions. Familiarity with production software development practices such as monitoring, logging, debugging, and deployment pipelines will allow you to own solutions end-to-end with confidence.
Practical notes
This internship is based in Zurich and runs for a 6-month engagement. Fluency in English is necessary for collaboration with global teams and customers.
