What you'll do

• Design, implement, and manage security measures to protect Bitso's information systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Monitor network traffic for unusual activity, responding to security incidents in a timely manner to minimize potential damage.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address weaknesses in the IT infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce IT policies and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support and training to staff on security protocols and best practices to foster a culture of security awareness.
• Maintain and update documentation related to IT systems, security policies, and incident response plans to ensure clarity and compliance.
• Manage access controls and user permissions across various systems, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive data.
• Stay informed about the latest security threats and trends, continuously updating security measures to counteract emerging risks.
• Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience.
• Work closely with third-party vendors to assess their security practices and ensure they meet Bitso's security standards.
• Participate in incident response planning and execution, including post-incident analysis and reporting to improve future responses.
• Contribute to the overall IT strategy by providing insights on security technologies and solutions that can enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security or a related role, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, GDPR, or PCI-DSS.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex security issues and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with incident response and vulnerability management processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience in the cryptocurrency or fintech industry, with an understanding of the unique security challenges in this domain.
• Knowledge of cloud security practices and experience with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure).
