What you'll do

• Develop a comprehensive vision and strategic roadmap for the Bitpanda Design System that aligns with company objectives.
• Convert organizational goals into scalable design principles and reusable patterns that enhance user experience.
• Identify inconsistencies in design across various platforms and work to eliminate them for a more cohesive user journey.
• Establish governance frameworks and contribution models to facilitate the adoption and maintenance of the Design System.
• Define and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of our design foundations on user experience.
• Set and uphold standards for interaction design, visual aesthetics, and accessibility to ensure inclusivity.
• Conduct thorough system audits to identify recurring design challenges and lead initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership in Engineering and Product to ensure alignment on complex design decisions and strategies.
• Produce clear, actionable documentation and provide mentorship to designers on systems thinking and best practices.
• Investigate and implement innovative design workflows, including the integration of AI technologies to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in product design, showcasing a deep understanding of the field.
• Demonstrated experience at a Staff or Principal level, with a strong portfolio reflecting your design leadership.
• Proven success in scaling a Design System across diverse platforms and teams, showcasing your strategic impact.
• Exceptional systems thinking abilities coupled with advanced skills in visual and interaction design.
• Strong capability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across Engineering and Product teams effectively.
• Experience in mentoring and uplifting the design capabilities within an organization, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires adaptability and quick decision-making.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of user research methodologies and the ability to incorporate user feedback into design processes.
• Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of front-end development principles and how they relate to design implementation.
• Previous experience in the fintech industry or a similar regulated environment.

Skills & tools

You will be expected to have proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong skills in user experience design, interaction design, and visual design are essential. Familiarity with design systems and the ability to apply systems thinking in your work will be crucial. Additionally, experience with AI tools and workflows will be a significant advantage.
