What you'll do

• Design and develop system architectures that meet project specifications and requirements, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate various system components effectively.
• Conduct thorough system testing and validation to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications.
• Analyze system performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team.
• Participate in the development of project documentation, including system design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, working closely with clients to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in systems engineering to continuously improve processes and methodologies.
• Lead project meetings and presentations to communicate system design and implementation strategies to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including security protocols and best practices.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to establish testing protocols and ensure that all systems meet quality standards before deployment.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in systems modeling and simulation tools, such as MATLAB, Simulink, or similar software.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Experience with configuration management tools and practices, ensuring system integrity throughout the lifecycle.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and their application in systems engineering.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, particularly in relation to systems design and implementation.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools, facilitating continuous integration and delivery.
• Certifications in relevant fields, such as Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Project Management Professional (PMP).

Skills & tools

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, with a strong emphasis on software development for systems engineering applications.
• Familiarity with database management systems and data analysis tools, enabling effective data-driven decision-making.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
