What you'll do
- Design and implement robust security architectures to protect sensitive information and systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security weaknesses within the organization's infrastructure.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle, ensuring that security is a priority from the outset.
- Monitor and analyze security incidents, providing timely responses and remediation strategies to mitigate risks.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of security within the organization.
- Evaluate and recommend security tools and technologies that enhance the organization's security posture.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve security practices and protocols.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance status to senior management.
- Participate in incident response planning and execution, ensuring that the organization is prepared to respond effectively to security breaches.
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the organization can maintain operations in the event of a security incident.
- Foster relationships with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the organization's security capabilities and share best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in information security or a related role, with a strong focus on systems security engineering.
- Proficiency in security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability management solutions.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and database security.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and respond to complex security challenges.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.
- Experience with cloud security and securing cloud-based applications is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or GDPR is advantageous.
