Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct environmental assessments and prepare reports that evaluate the impact of projects on local ecosystems and communities.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop strategies that ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Assist in the design and implementation of environmental monitoring programs to track the effectiveness of mitigation measures.
- Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, and community members, to communicate project goals and gather feedback.
- Analyze data collected from environmental studies and present findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents required for project approval.
- Stay updated on current environmental legislation and best practices to ensure that Bamboohr remains at the forefront of industry standards.
- Participate in fieldwork, including site assessments and monitoring activities, to gather essential data for project development.
- Contribute to the development of sustainability initiatives that align with Bamboohr's commitment to environmental stewardship.
- Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on environmental practices and methodologies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into all phases of project planning and execution.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders to communicate project updates and environmental impacts effectively.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements in British Columbia.
- Proficiency in environmental assessment methodologies and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Experience with project management and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Nice to have
- A master's degree in a relevant field is an asset.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other environmental modeling software.
- Certification as an Environmental Professional (EP) or similar designation.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis software.
- Experience with environmental monitoring equipment and field sampling techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
