What you'll do
- Develop comprehensive civil engineering designs for a variety of projects, including roadways, drainage systems, and land development initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project specifications align with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform design decisions and project planning.
- Utilize advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other engineering design applications to create detailed drawings and models.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and project documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to gather project requirements and provide updates on progress and challenges.
- Participate in project meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring that deliverables are completed on schedule and within financial constraints.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance design methodologies and project outcomes.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects, showcasing Bamboohr's capabilities and innovative approaches.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in civil design engineering, preferably within the infrastructure sector.
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of local and provincial engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- A valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe is preferred.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices is an asset.
