Key facts
What you'll do
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement engineering solutions that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in project planning and management, ensuring that timelines and budgets are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform design decisions, utilizing industry best practices and innovative technologies.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project progress and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on engineering solutions that align with their goals.
- Assist in the development of proposals and bids for new projects, showcasing Bamboohr's capabilities and expertise.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements to ensure that Bamboohr remains at the forefront of engineering practices.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and interns, fostering their professional growth and development within the company.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Contribute to a culture of safety by adhering to all safety protocols and promoting best practices within the workplace.
- Collaborate with external partners, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project execution and compliance.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and project delivery processes.
Requirements
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in engineering design, project management, or a related area.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- A proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration in British Columbia.
- Experience in water resources, transportation, or environmental engineering projects.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices and environmental regulations.
- Previous experience working in a consulting environment, particularly in client-facing roles.
Skills & tools
Candidates should be adept in using various engineering software and tools, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with project management software and collaboration tools will be advantageous. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
