Product Marketing Lead
Job description
About the role
Product Marketing Lead at BasicCapital
BasicCapital is reimagining the financial lives of everyday Americans by transforming the retirement landscape. We are on a mission to build the mortgage for retirement, unlock market ownership, and make wealth accessible to every American. Our goal is to create products, platforms, and a credit marketplace that power a fundamentally new retirement system. Founded by leaders from GoldmanSachs, Uber, Block, and Robinhood, and backed by top investors such as Lux, BoxGroup, SVAngel, InspiredCapital, and HenryKravis, we are a lean team based in SoHo, NYC, committed to reducing wealth inequality. We are hiring a ProductMarketingLead to help turn BasicCapital into a generational financial services brand. This is not "fintech marketing." This is storytelling, culture, and distribution, executed with speed and precision. In less than a year since launch, BasicCapital is already becoming a household brand. We have something interesting to say, and a truth to be (well) told. This role is for someone who wants to build a brand people talk about, share, and trust with their financial future.
What You'll Do
You will relentlessly drive the BasicCapital brand forward as a leading innovator in fintech and create a generational financial services brand. With unmatched creativity and freedom, you will push well beyond what is expected from a financial services company.
Shape a Brand People Actually Care About
You will help shape and scale BasicCapital's brand voice, tone, and creative identity. You will turn complex financial concepts into simple, compelling narratives. You will create marketing that feels inevitable, modern, and unmistakably BasicCapital.
Ship Campaigns Across Channels
You will launch and manage multi‑channel campaigns across social, email, partnerships, and IRL. You will build creative that breaks through feeds and conversations. You will execute with speed, taste, and high standards.
Tell the Truth (Better Than Anyone Else)
You will translate product truth into stories that drive adoption. You will create content that educates without being boring. You will make the complicated feel clear, exciting, and trustworthy.
Operate Like a Builder
You will move fast and iterate, shipping, learning, and improving repeatedly. You will work cross‑functionally with product, design, sales, and leadership. You will bring creative ideas to life with scrappiness and excellence.
Requirements
- Experience launching and managing marketing initiatives end‑to‑end, maintaining quality throughout.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills that engage audiences and drive action.
- The ability to operate independently, moving quickly while paying careful attention to details.
- Sharp creative instincts spanning content, campaigns, and audience targeting.
- Comfort working in a fast‑moving environment where strategies adapt as markets and priorities shift.
- You are creative, sharp, and relentless. You have taste. You know what good looks like. You can write, edit, ship, and iterate quickly. You care about craft, but you care about outcomes more.
- You have a strong creative point of view and the ability to execute it.
- You operate comfortably in ambiguity with high ownership. You have a bias toward action and shipping. You can balance brand and performance without losing the soul. You want a role where you can build something iconic, not incremental.
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, consumer finance, investing, or benefits.
- Strong social instincts and an understanding of modern distribution.
- Experience with brand campaigns, IRL activations, or unconventional marketing approaches.
- A track record of building beloved brands rather than merely popular products.
Practical Details
This is a full‑time role based in our New York Office. The compensation for this position is $180,000 per year. The expected hours fit standard business schedules, with possible campaign extensions. There are no travel or visa requirements specified.
