The Power & Low Carbon Solutions (PLCS) practice operates across energy and resources, financial services, government and public sector, consumer products and retail, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, manufacturing, and technology, media and telecoms. The practice supports clients including utilities, independent power producers, developers, network companies, commodity traders, industrials, investors, policymakers, and regulators. Services focus on strategy, transformation, and operational excellence, enabling project development, capital deployment, and value optimization throughout the energy transition. This includes renewables, storage, clean molecules, and low carbon infrastructure, all informed by market, technical, commercial, and regulatory expertise.

The PLCS practice is currently seeking a Junior Energy Consultant to join a team based in Sofia, Bulgaria. This role supports market work for power networks across Southeast Europe. The consultant will own key analytical workstreams, contributing to client projects with guidance and structured support. The position requires sound judgment and reliable delivery from the outset, aligning with project timelines and quality standards.

You will be responsible for charting regional power trends and policy shifts to frame market entry and growth options for network stakeholders. The role involves translating executive goals into detailed analysis plans that clarify scope for commercial and technical teams. You will construct datasets and models for project timelines, deployment scenarios, and value capture within energy networks. Insights will be communicated through clear narratives, visual dashboards, and scenario workshops tailored for senior leaders. The position requires aligning solutions with client constraints while coordinating closely with delivery teams and local partners.

Building credibility with utilities, traders, and regulators is essential to test assumptions and validate findings. You will support the development of robust analytical outputs and contribute to quality assurance processes. The role includes guiding junior team members on calculations, checks, and documentation to maintain consistency and quality. You will track project health, timelines, and risks to ensure engagements remain on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate holds between 3 and 5 years of consulting or energy analysis experience. A strong comfort with numerical analysis and power systems fundamentals is required. You should demonstrate familiarity with regulatory contexts and market frameworks relevant to energy. Clear communication skills in English are necessary for both internal collaboration and client interactions.

Experience with Power & Low Carbon Solutions tools and regional wholesale markets is considered a valuable asset. Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and reporting using standard software tools is expected. The role involves working within structured frameworks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse consulting projects across utilities, renewables, storage, and clean molecules in Southeast Europe. Compensation for this role is structured at 55,000 GBP on a yearly basis. Engagement types involve consulting projects that require adaptability and a solutions-oriented mindset.
