The Senior Strategist role is pivotal in defining and advancing brand strategy for healthcare clients. This position leads key strategic workstreams from discovery through activation, transforming complex research, behavioural insight, cultural context, and market intelligence into compelling strategic recommendations. These insights inspire both clients and creative teams, guiding multidisciplinary efforts in brand positioning, messaging, creative strategy, and omnichannel experiences. The ideal candidate is curious, articulate, and energised by solving complex healthcare challenges with simplicity and clarity.
Operating with significant autonomy, the Senior Strategist owns substantial components of strategic programmes. They guide teams through ambiguity while ensuring strategic rigour and creative excellence. This role elevates the quality of strategic thinking across projects and contributes to agency growth through thought leadership and innovation. Senior Strategists act as trusted partners, bringing confidence, clarity, and perspective to intricate healthcare challenges for both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Strategist drives omnichannel brand narratives from research to execution for healthcare clients. This involves mapping stakeholder journeys and synthesising insights to shape positioning for complex markets. The role challenges assumptions by connecting data, science, and cultural context into strategic frameworks. Senior Strategists orchestrate creative briefs that align medical evidence with compelling storytelling for clinicians. They build thought leadership through analytical frameworks that influence agency and client decisions. A critical responsibility is forging partnership strategies that align payer, provider, and patient perspectives across all touchpoints. Translating regulatory constraints into clear guidance protects brands while enabling innovation. The position champions strategic coherence to ensure messages resonate across channels and customer lifecycles.
Requirements
The candidate must possess three to five years of experience in healthcare strategy or related roles. Demonstrated comfort working with medical evidence and interpreting data for decision-making is essential. Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship is required for this position. A solid understanding of brand development, positioning, and the demands of commercial environments is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in life sciences, payers, or provider segments within healthcare is a valuable asset.
Tools and Expertise
Proficiency with Avalere Health's proprietary frameworks, commercial and medical strategy tools, and presentation and storytelling platforms is expected.
