Senior Data Analyst
Job description
About the role
The Senior Data Analyst Opportunity at August Health centers on strengthening care provided to older adults through a modern operating platform and electronic health record (EHR) that helps senior living teams deliver high-quality care with confidence. Caregivers remain central to senior living communities, bringing care, compassion, and well-being to residents while facing rising resident acuity, complex workflows, and staffing shortages. Our tools are designed to simplify tasks, remove inefficiencies, and give caregivers the insights they need to protect their energy and focus on residents. This role exists to turn customer data into practical guidance for care teams, enabling them to simplify workflows, lower administrative burden, and protect time for direct resident care. You will partner closely with Customer Success to demonstrate how data can simplify workflows and translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that empower customers. Your work will serve as the bridge between analytics and customer empowerment, defining metrics and self-serve tooling that allow Customer Success teams to answer routine questions independently.
Key Responsibilities
Lead deep-dive analyses on customer data to surface opportunities that help communities support caregivers and streamline workflows.
Design, build, and maintain scalable dashboards, reports, and visualizations used across the Customer Success organization.
Partner with Customer Success on Quarterly Business Reviews, customer meetings, and strategic initiatives.
Present findings to customers and translate intricate metrics into plain language and practical steps.
Define and enforce analytics standards and best practices to ensure consistency across the organization.
Map senior living operations and caregiver workflow patterns to identify recurring friction points.
Convert vague business questions from Customer Success and leadership into structured analysis plans.
Build and maintain self-serve tools so customer teams can answer routine requests without analyst support.
Requirements
You must bring 6 or more years of data analysis experience, including advanced SQL skills with window functions, query optimization, and CTEs.
You must have a track record of independently owning analytics projects from initial ask to completed insight.
You must demonstrate a practical understanding of statistics applied to business problems.
You must possess a customer-obsessed mindset with concrete examples of helping customers meet demanding goals.
You must have experience presenting to external stakeholders and working directly with customers.
You must show a strong understanding of data structures, privacy, and responsible stewardship of sensitive information.
You must have excellent communication skills to make complex data accessible to diverse audiences.
You must have experience using Python for data analysis and visualization tools such as Looker or similar platforms.
Prior experience with healthcare data, EHR systems, or medical terminology is a valuable asset.
What you'll do
You will lead detailed analyses of customer data to uncover non-obvious opportunities for communities to better support staff and streamline workflows. You will design and own scalable, reusable dashboards, reports, and visualizations that the Customer Success organization uses to show value to clients. You will present findings to customers and translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
You will define and drive analytics best practices and standard processes, shaping the Insights roadmap through strategic feedback to Product and Engineering teams. You will scope ambiguous, open-ended business questions from Customer Success and leadership into structured analyses with minimal direction. You will also define the metrics and self-serve tooling that allow Customer Success teams to answer routine questions independently.
