About the role
Attentive is seeking a strategic leader to establish and manage our Voice of the Market function. This role acts as the primary bridge between market intelligence and executive decision-making, ensuring that customer, competitor, and industry insights drive our product and go-to-market strategies. The successful candidate will own the end-to-end lifecycle of market intelligence, transforming raw data into actionable strategic assets. They will be responsible for defining the structure, process, and output of our market insights programs to guide product development and commercial initiatives. This position requires a blend of strategic vision and operational rigor to build a scalable function from the ground up. The hire will serve as the central expert on customer, competitor, and industry dynamics for the entire organization. They will leverage advanced methodologies to uncover emerging opportunities and potential threats to our business. Ultimately, this role is critical for ensuring that Attentive's strategies are informed by deep, validated market realities rather than assumptions.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and implement a company-wide Voice of the Market program to capture and operationalize insights from customers, partners, and analysts.
- Execute quantitative and qualitative research, including win/loss analysis, surveys, and customer interviews.
- Manage the company analyst relations strategy and maintain relationships with key industry influencers.
- Oversee the competitive intelligence function, mentoring a Senior PMM and delivering actionable assessments to leadership.
- Utilize AI tools to automate the collection and synthesis of market data into real-time intelligence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into effective positioning, messaging, and thought leadership.
- Develop and own key market metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of go-to-market initiatives and product adoption.
- Synthesize complex market data into clear narratives, frameworks, and tools for internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Partner with Product Leadership to identify feature prioritization opportunities based on validated customer needs and pain points.
- Lead the creation of battle cards, playbooks, and sales enablement content based on competitive and market insights.
- Conduct ongoing market segmentation and persona development to ensure marketing and sales efforts remain precisely targeted.
- Establish best practices and governance for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of market intelligence across the organization.
- Present strategic recommendations to the executive team based on data trends, emerging technologies, and competitive shifts.
- Monitor market dynamics and external factors such as regulation, technology disruption, and macroeconomic trends for potential impact.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Market Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence, or Analyst Relations.
- Proven track record of building insights programs from the ground up.
- Experience managing and developing direct reports.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level decision-making through data-driven recommendations.
- Hands-on proficiency with AI-powered research and analysis tools.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment is mandatory.
- Demonstrated success navigating ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information.
- A history of mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of data into actionable insights.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality when handling sensitive market and customer data.

- Experience with category creation or market development initiatives.
