What you'll do

• Oversee the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual SEC reports, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data necessary for accurate reporting.
• Review and enhance internal controls related to financial reporting to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Prepare supporting documentation for external auditors and assist in the audit process to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Monitor changes in accounting regulations and standards to ensure the company remains compliant and adapts reporting practices accordingly.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports, providing insights and analysis to support business decisions.
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, contributing your expertise to enhance the overall financial reporting process.
• Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and financial institutions, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as requested by senior management to support strategic initiatives.
• Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts, addressing discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, with a focus on SEC reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and SEC regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
• Proven experience in managing the preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools, with advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.

Nice to have

• Experience with public company accounting and reporting, particularly in a technology or software industry.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
• Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role within an accounting department.
• Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) is a plus.
