What you'll do

• Oversee the daily operations of marshaling and storage activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
• Coordinate the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming materials and products, maintaining accurate records and inventory levels.
• Implement best practices for inventory management, including the organization of storage areas to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely fulfillment of orders and effective communication regarding inventory status.
• Conduct regular audits of storage areas to assess inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies, taking corrective actions as necessary.
• Train and mentor junior staff in proper marshaling and storage techniques, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
• Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels, manage reordering processes, and generate reports for management review.
• Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to marshaling and storage operations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs.
• Ensure that all equipment used in marshaling and storage operations is maintained and operated safely, reporting any issues promptly.
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
• Support the logistics team in planning and executing the transportation of goods to and from storage facilities as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in operations, logistics, or warehouse management, with a focus on marshaling and storage processes.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices, including experience with inventory management software.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse or storage environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required by the role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to improve operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and safety protocols.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Familiarity with transportation and logistics software systems.
