Bamboohr is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of electrical projects, ensuring that all estimates are accurate and align with project specifications and budgets.

What you'll do

• Develop comprehensive electrical estimates for various projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential sectors, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare detailed take-offs and pricing.
• Maintain and update a database of historical costs and pricing to inform future estimates and improve accuracy.
• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather additional information that may impact cost estimation.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure they meet project specifications and budget constraints.
• Prepare and present detailed cost reports and estimates to management and clients, clearly articulating the basis for estimates.
• Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates and recommendations for cost control measures.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks related to project costs and timelines, proactively addressing issues as they arise.
• Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to ensure competitive and accurate estimating practices.
• Train and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge in electrical estimation.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions regarding project execution and financial performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimation, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
• Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving situations.
• Knowledge of local market conditions and pricing trends in the Rhode Island area.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as Certified Estimator (CE) or similar credentials.
• Experience with renewable energy projects or sustainable building practices.
• Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its application in electrical estimation.
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an estimating team.
• Understanding of contract negotiation and management processes.
