What you'll do
- Develop innovative and visually appealing designs for a variety of marketing materials, including digital ads, social media content, and print collateral.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create cohesive branding strategies that align with OluKai's mission and values.
- Design packaging and product graphics that enhance the customer experience and reflect the quality of OluKai products.
- Create engaging visual content for our website and e-commerce platforms, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Work closely with product development teams to produce graphics for new product launches, ensuring timely delivery of assets.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate fresh ideas and concepts that elevate the OluKai brand.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on design trends and competitor strategies, applying insights to your work.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Present design concepts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback to refine and improve designs.
- Maintain an organized library of design assets and templates for future use.
- Collaborate with external vendors and printers to ensure high-quality production of printed materials.
- Assist in the development of brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all visual communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably in a retail or consumer goods environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design software.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, including branding, packaging, and digital content.
- Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for producing high-quality work.
- Familiarity with web design principles and experience with HTML/CSS is a plus.
- Knowledge of photography and videography is a bonus.
Nice to have
- Experience in the outdoor or lifestyle brand sector.
- Familiarity with motion graphics and video editing software.
- Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles.
- Previous experience working with e-commerce platforms.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Skills & tools
The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite, and will have a keen eye for aesthetics and detail. Familiarity with project management tools and collaboration platforms will be beneficial, as will knowledge of web design and digital marketing strategies. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are essential for success in this role.
