Growth Marketing, Social Content
Job description
About the role
You will own the end-to-end creation and distribution of viral content that drives advertisers to Axon, starting with e-commerce verticals like Shopify operators and DTC founders and expanding into apps, finance, lead generation, and beyond. You will act as the primary storyteller for the platform, translating complex product capabilities into simple, high-impact narratives that resonate with builders and operators. This role requires you to conceive, execute, and iterate on content experiments across multiple channels, using live data and first-party insights to validate performance. You will leverage AI tools not as a crutch but as a force multiplier to move faster and test more hypotheses in less time. Ultimately, you are responsible for building a durable content engine that scales with the product and establishes AppLovin as a thought leader in performance marketing.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Figure out what content actually lands and ship it relentlessly, pulling from first-party advertiser data, customer voices, the product roadmap, and the broader market to inform every piece of content.
- Live tools, charts, videos, webinars, livestreams, podcasts, mini-sites, and experimental formats, iterating based on performance rather than opinion.
- Share the work publicly the moment it adds value, posting on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, podcasts, and any channel where the audience for e-commerce and builders lives.
- Set a sustainable operating rhythm where you ship high-quality content every week, measure its impact every week, and ruthlessly prune underperforming themes every month.
- Act as the public face of the content, owning the narrative from ideation to publication and being comfortable on camera, on the microphone, and in writing.
- Partner with designers, researchers, and business development teams to turn raw insights into polished assets that amplify reach and credibility.
- Build from scratch with minimal resources when necessary and deploy full team support and budget when the opportunity justifies it, scaling your approach to available resources.
- Maintain an obsessive focus on the current builder and operator ecosystem, tracking AI agents, indie tools, viral consumer apps, and design-forward products to identify collaboration angles.
- (BONUS) Be fluent in Claude Code and agentic AI tools, using them to build working prototypes, automate workflows, and create content end-to-end without manual intervention.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on performance marketing for e-commerce, ensuring that every piece of content educates the audience on how to win with Axon.
Requirements
- You have built something that went viral, whether it is a tool that got passed around, a tweet that broke 10 million views, a podcast that hit a dedicated audience, a video that broke 1 million views, or a Substack that scaled past 10,000 subscribers, proving you are a storyteller first.
- You can build from scratch on your own and you also know how to partner with designers, researchers, and business development teams to amplify what you ship, adapting your workflow to team size and budget constraints.
- You are obsessed with what builders are shipping right now, including AI agents, indie tools, viral consumer apps, and design-forward products, and you can explain why specific products are gaining traction.
- You are fluent in Claude Code and agentic AI tools, using them actively to build sites, tools, workflows, and content systems rather than using them solely for ideation or editing.
- You have a track record of shipping content in a fast-moving environment where hypotheses are tested quickly and failures are treated as learning opportunities.
- You understand how to leverage first-party data and customer feedback to inform content topics, formats, and calls to action that drive measurable business outcomes.
- You are disciplined in your craft, maintaining high standards for clarity, accuracy, and persuasiveness in every piece of content you publish.
- You are legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements for this role.
