What you'll do
- Provide expert guidance to clients on the technical design and implementation of Appian solutions, whether on their private cloud or through our government cloud offerings.
- Assist in the sales process by crafting high-value solutions that integrate program and project management with technical delivery roadmaps.
- Present complex technical concepts and integrated solutions to clients and stakeholders.
- Support clients in configuring, testing, deploying, and operating Appian applications, following agile methodologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with clients on various program aspects to enhance technical success and efficiency, including development practices and governance.
- Drive the development of innovative offerings within Appian Customer Success, incorporating emerging requirements from clients and industry trends.
- Gather and analyze technical challenges with a team of architects, translating them into best practices and solutions.
- Contribute to the creation and review of whitepapers and proposals for pre-sales solutions.
- Advise federal clients on integrating AI capabilities, including large language models and machine learning, into Appian solutions while ensuring alignment with their objectives.
- Define enterprise data strategies for federal clients, focusing on data management and analytics frameworks that support scalable data platforms.
- Establish data governance frameworks for federal programs to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and readiness for audits.
- Develop AI governance structures for federal clients, including risk management and monitoring practices aligned with industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in advising on government cloud computing platforms and at least 10 years in multi-tier application architecture.
- Proven experience in designing secure cloud hosting solutions for federal clients using AWS, GCP, or Azure, with leadership in enterprise-level cloud environments.
- Required experience in authoring federal proposals and technical whitepapers.
- Strong background in managing federal programs and leading IT delivery using agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe.
- Preferred experience in accelerating IT solutions under the federal government's Risk Management Framework.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and Infrastructure Automation frameworks, using tools like Jenkins, Puppet, or Ansible is preferred.
- Willingness to travel 10-15% for customer engagements, including visits to secure facilities.

Education and Certifications
- Certifications in AWS, Google, or Azure are advantageous.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master or equivalent agile certifications are required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a US government public trust or DoD clearance; TS/SCI with CI Poly is highly preferred.
Base Salary Range
$150,000 - $275,000 USD
Practical notes
This position includes eligibility for a government clearance differential. Actual compensation will depend on various factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, and market conditions. A discretionary bonus may be awarded based on individual and company performance.
