The Customer Success team is seeking a Solution Architect to enhance our federal business and collaborate closely with clients to design integrated solutions.

What you'll do
- Provide guidance to clients on the technical architecture and implementation of Appian solutions, whether on private cloud or on-premise systems, and assist in integrating Appian's government cloud offerings with existing infrastructures.
- Contribute to the sales process by developing high-value solutions that align with Appian's technology, integrating project management disciplines with effective technical solutions and delivery plans.
- Present and evaluate integrated solutions and intricate technical concepts to clients and various stakeholders.
- Assist clients with the configuration, testing, deployment, and operation of Appian applications, adhering to agile methodologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with clients on all program aspects to enhance technical success and efficiency, including development practices, program management, and automation strategies.
- Spearhead the creation and development of innovations and offerings within Appian Customer Success to enhance delivery capabilities and address evolving customer needs.
- Gather and analyze technical challenges with a team of architects to establish best practices and common solutions.
- Aid in the preparation and review of whitepapers, proposals, and pre-sales solutions.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in advising clients on government cloud computing platform design and implementation, along with at least 10 years in multi-tier application design and architecture.
- Proven experience in architecting secure cloud hosting solutions for federal clients using platforms such as Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and/or Microsoft Azure, with leadership experience in enterprise-level cloud environments.
- Experience in drafting federal proposals and whitepapers is essential.
- Extensive experience in managing federal programs and projects, leading IT delivery using agile frameworks, including Scrum and SAFe.
- Familiarity with accelerating IT solutions under the federal government's Risk Management Framework is preferred.
- Experience in designing and implementing DevSecOps pipelines and Infrastructure Automation frameworks using tools like Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack, Cucumber, JMeter, and Fitnesse is preferred.
- Willingness to travel 10-15% to support client engagements, including access to SCIFs.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with a knack for identifying innovative solutions.
- Ability to identify and lead the development of market offerings and corporate capabilities.
Education and Certifications
- AWS, Google, or Azure Certifications are advantageous.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master or other agile certifications are required.
- US Citizenship is mandatory.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a US government public trust or DoD clearance; TS/SCI with CI Poly is highly preferred.
Base Salary Range
$150,000 - $275,000 USD
Practical notes
This role offers a government clearance differential in addition to the base salary. Actual compensation will depend on various factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and market conditions. A discretionary bonus may be awarded based on individual and company performance.
