In this position, you will play a vital role in supporting federal clients by utilizing our cloud-based platform technology. You will work closely with the U.S. Army to design integrated solutions that address their modernization initiatives.

What you'll do

• Guide clients in the technical design and implementation of Appian solutions on their private cloud or on-premise systems, as well as integrating our government cloud offerings.
• Assist in the sales process by developing unique solutions that combine Appian's technology with effective project management and delivery strategies.
• Present and discuss complex technical concepts and integrated solutions to clients and other stakeholders.
• Help clients with the configuration, testing, deployment, and operation of Appian applications, adhering to agile methodologies and best practices.
• Collaborate with clients on various program aspects to enhance technical success, including advising on development practices and delivery automation.
• Lead the creation and enhancement of Appian Customer Success innovations to improve delivery capabilities and address emerging client needs.
• Analyze technical challenges with a team of architects to develop best practices and standardized solutions.
• Contribute to the creation and review of whitepapers and proposals for pre-sales efforts.
• Advise Army clients on utilizing Appian as an agility layer to integrate mission and business processes across existing systems, employing features like Data Fabric.
• Design Appian-based architectures for Army modernization projects that connect operational workflows and data orchestration across complex environments.
• Demonstrate experience in the Army C5ISR ecosystem and related mission systems.
• Familiarize yourself with Army enterprise systems and modernization initiatives, including ECMA and GCSS-Army.
• Collaborate with Army stakeholders and technical teams to develop architectures that comply with hosting, cybersecurity, and interoperability requirements.
• Support Army-focused capture and proposal efforts by translating Appian capabilities into relevant technical solutions and modernization strategies.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in advising on government cloud computing platforms, with at least 10 years in multi-tier application design and architecture.
• Proven experience in architecting secure cloud hosting solutions for federal clients using platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in writing federal proposals and whitepapers is essential.
• Extensive experience managing federal programs and leading IT delivery using agile methodologies like Scrum and SAFe.
• Familiarity with the federal government's Risk Management Framework is preferred.
• Experience in developing DevSecOps pipelines and Infrastructure Automation frameworks using tools like Jenkins, Puppet, or Ansible is preferred.
• Willingness to travel 10-15% to support customer engagements, including visits to secure facilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Experience guiding client enterprise architecture teams during solution design and implementation.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a knack for identifying innovative solutions.
• Capability to lead the development of market offerings and corporate capabilities.
• AWS, Google, or Azure certifications are a plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
• Certified Scrum Master or other agile certifications are required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a US government public trust and/or DoD clearance. TS/SCI with CI Poly is strongly preferred.

Practical notes

The base salary for this role ranges from $150,000 to $275,000 USD. In addition to the base salary, this position may qualify for a government clearance differential. Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including relevant experience and qualifications. A discretionary bonus may also be awarded based on individual and company performance.
