Anthropic is on the lookout for a Field Marketing Manager who will lead marketing efforts specifically targeting the Public Sector, an area that is experiencing significant growth. In this pivotal position, you will play a key role in crafting and executing the marketing strategy aimed at U.S. Public Sector clients. Your collaboration with the Public Sector Sales team will be crucial as you develop event strategies, launch digital marketing campaigns, establish partnerships, and create operational guidelines that can be scaled across the organization.

What you'll do
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive field marketing strategy tailored to the U.S. Public Sector, encompassing everything from initial planning and calendar development to execution and performance analysis.
- Create and oversee event formats specifically designed for the Public Sector, such as roundtables, briefings, technology showcases, and executive meetings, ensuring adherence to government regulations while nurturing relationships with key stakeholders.
- Synchronize the field marketing calendar with the fiscal cycles of government entities, developing demand generation initiatives that align with federal and state budget timelines and spending opportunities.
- Manage Anthropic's participation in major public sector events, including overseeing sponsorship strategies, selecting speakers, and coordinating logistics on-site.
- Initiate co-marketing efforts with channel partners in the Public Sector, including distributors, resellers, and system integrators, to create joint events, content, and sales opportunities.
- Work closely with the Public Sector Sales and Business Development teams to identify target accounts, engage prospects during events, and follow up post-event to convert interest into sales.
- Develop operational playbooks for activities such as demo days and hackathons, ensuring these can be replicated by the wider Field Marketing team.
- Establish key performance indicators, create dashboards, and report on the return on investment for all Public Sector field marketing initiatives.
- Act as a representative of Anthropic within the Public Sector community, building credibility with strategic partners and government agencies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in creating and executing field marketing initiatives specifically for the Public Sector, rather than as a secondary function of an enterprise role.
- Demonstrated ability to take full ownership of field marketing events and programs, managing them from strategic planning to hands-on execution, with a history of developing initiatives from the ground up.
- A track record of delivering results across various organizations by scaling field or demand generation programs effectively.
- A proactive mindset towards building marketing functions from the ground up, alongside experience in scaling operations within established organizations.
- Experience collaborating closely with sales teams, including Account Executives and Business Development Representatives, on account targeting, pre-event outreach, and post-event follow-up.
- Strong operational capabilities, including vendor management, registration processes, follow-up workflows, and ROI assessment.
- Sufficient technical knowledge to evaluate event content, brief technical speakers, and engage with technical audiences effectively.
- A Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience.
Nice to have
- Over 10 years of experience in Field Marketing, Demand Generation, Account-Based Marketing, and Events within B2B technology firms.
- Background in a rapidly growing Public Sector organization or a blend of Public Sector and scaled technology company environments.
- Experience in field marketing related to AI/Machine Learning.
- Established connections with public sector associations and research institutions.
- Recognized contributions or thought leadership within the Public Sector or developer communities.

Annual salary range: $320,000 - $400,000 USD (On Target Earnings for sales roles).
