What you'll do

• Provide expert legal advice on various aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
• Conduct thorough IP audits to assess the strength and validity of clients' intellectual property portfolios.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of patent and trademark applications, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and product development, to align IP strategies with business objectives.
• Develop and implement IP policies and procedures to safeguard clients' intellectual property rights.
• Monitor and analyze IP trends and developments in relevant industries to provide strategic insights to clients.
• Represent clients in IP disputes, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Provide training and guidance to clients on best practices for IP management and enforcement.
• Draft and negotiate licensing agreements, joint venture agreements, and other contracts related to intellectual property.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in IP law and regulations, and communicate these changes to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of educational materials and resources to promote awareness of IP issues among clients and staff.
• Participate in industry conferences and networking events to enhance Bamboohr's visibility and reputation in the IP community.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with a focus on intellectual property law.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience practicing IP law, preferably in a corporate or law firm setting.
• Strong understanding of patent and trademark law, as well as relevant international treaties and agreements.
• Proven experience in conducting IP audits and managing IP portfolios.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically about IP issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Experience with IP management software or tools, particularly those used for patent and trademark tracking.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and their implications for intellectual property law, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain.
• Membership in relevant professional organizations, such as the International Trademark Association (INTA) or the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
• Multilingual capabilities, particularly in languages relevant to Bamboohr's client base.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
• Familiarity with IP management systems and software.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly in Word and Excel for documentation and data analysis.
• Excellent presentation skills for client meetings and training sessions.

• This position is based in Gurugram, Haryana, and may require occasional travel for client meetings or industry events.
