What you'll do
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and development.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they align with Anaqua's strategic objectives and timelines.
- Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define project requirements and translate them into actionable engineering tasks.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
- Monitor team performance and project progress, utilizing metrics and feedback to make informed decisions and adjustments as needed.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments, ensuring transparency and alignment on project goals and expectations.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering projects, proactively addressing challenges to maintain project timelines and quality.
- Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging team members to explore new technologies and approaches that can enhance our product offerings.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to discuss performance, career aspirations, and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in recruitment efforts to attract top engineering talent, conducting interviews and assessments to build a high-performing team.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging this knowledge to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Represent the engineering team in executive meetings, providing updates on project status, team performance, and resource needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing software development projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly agile practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks, such as Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Nice to have
- Experience in the intellectual property management domain or related fields.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning concepts.
- Previous experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
