Anaplan is seeking a highly skilled Solution Consulting Manager to join our pre-sales team in Tokyo. This on-site position is critical for supporting our strategic growth and enhancing customer engagement by demonstrating the value of our innovative platform. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in SaaS and enterprise sales, coupled with proven leadership experience in a pre-sales environment. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing strategies, leading demonstrations, and collaborating across departments to ensure customer success. What you'll do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the Solution Consulting team that aligns with Anaplan's overall business objectives and product capabilities. This includes identifying target industries, customer segments, and key value propositions to maximize market penetration.
- Lead the creation and delivery of impactful product demonstrations, proof of concepts, and tailored presentations that showcase how Anaplan's platform can solve complex business challenges across various functions such as finance, supply chain, sales, and operations.
- Support the sales team by providing expert guidance during customer meetings, helping to articulate the value of Anaplan's solutions and addressing technical and business questions effectively.
- Mentor, coach, and support a team of pre-sales solution consultants, fostering their professional development and ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.
- Collaborate closely with product management, marketing, customer success, and professional services teams to ensure alignment of pre-sales activities with product roadmaps, marketing campaigns, and customer onboarding processes.
- Drive operational excellence by transforming the pre-sales organization in line with new sales blueprints, focusing on process improvements, efficiency, and quality of customer engagements.
- Act as a thought leader and evangelist in the field of enterprise planning, connected planning, and digital transformation, sharing insights at industry events, webinars, and client meetings.
- Stay current with industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to ensure Anaplan remains at the forefront of the enterprise planning market.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members, ensuring they understand the technical and strategic aspects of Anaplan's platform.
- Contribute to the development of sales enablement materials, case studies, and best practices to enhance the effectiveness of the pre-sales team.
- Assist in gathering customer feedback and market insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, or technical sales within enterprise software or SaaS environments.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience, managing or mentoring a team of solution consultants or technical sales professionals.
- Extensive industry knowledge in sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, chemicals, conglomerates/CPG, and technology.
- Proven track record of proposing and leading digital transformation initiatives for large enterprise clients, demonstrating the ability to communicate complex solutions effectively.
- Strong understanding of enterprise sales cycles, customer engagement strategies, and value-based selling.
- Business-level proficiency in English and native-level fluency in Japanese, enabling effective communication with local clients and global teams.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with C-level executives and technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with cloud-based solutions and enterprise software platforms.
- Knowledge of financial modeling, business performance management, and related tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with ITAR regulations and compliance requirements is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
