About the role
Anaergia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Ho Chi Minh City. This full-time position involves supporting the design, analysis, and maintenance of mechanical systems within the company's renewable energy operations. The role contributes to the development and optimization of equipment used in waste-to-energy and biogas facilities. The engineer will work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical components meet operational standards and project timelines. Responsibilities include both office-based engineering tasks and field visits to project locations. The position plays a key part in delivering reliable and efficient mechanical solutions across Anaergia's portfolio of environmental technology projects. The engineer will report to the engineering manager and participate in regular team reviews and project status meetings.

What you'll do
- Support the design and development of mechanical components for renewable energy systems and waste processing equipment used in facility operations.
- Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to validate mechanical designs and confirm that performance specifications meet project requirements and safety standards.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and comprehensive documentation using standard engineering practices, conventions, and company formatting guidelines for internal and client use.
- Collaborate with project teams to review designs, identify potential improvements, and resolve mechanical issues that arise during the construction and build phases.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment at project sites to ensure proper functionality, alignment, and adherence to operational procedures.
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences and improve overall system reliability.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate mechanical parts, materials, and procurement specifications before purchase orders are finalized and issued.
- Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments related to mechanical systems, operating procedures, and equipment handling across project environments.
- Maintain and update equipment inventories, maintenance schedules, and technical records for all mechanical assets managed by the engineering team.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and technical reports for internal review and client presentations and deliverables.
- Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to verify that installed mechanical work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and quality expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting design modifications, process changes, and efficiency gains for existing and future projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical design principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics fundamentals as applied to industrial and environmental systems.
- Proficiency in engineering software for drafting, modeling, and simulation of mechanical systems and components relevant to energy and process industries.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and equipment specifications accurately and without supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and field locations as required by project demands and construction schedules.
- Attention to detail in documenting calculations, design changes, equipment modifications, and lessons learned throughout project lifecycles.
- Commitment to following established engineering standards, safety protocols, quality assurance procedures, and company policies in all daily work.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment with shifting project deadlines and demands.
- Experience working with international clients or on projects governed by foreign regulatory frameworks and technical standards.

- Background in biogas, landfill gas, or waste-to-energy technology operations and mechanical system design for these applications.
