What you'll do

• Manage the entire accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Prepare and send out invoices to customers promptly, ensuring that all billing information is accurate and up-to-date.
• Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up with clients to facilitate timely collections.
• Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve billing discrepancies and address customer inquiries regarding their accounts.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications with clients, ensuring that all documentation is readily accessible for audits and reviews.
• Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status, including aging reports, to provide insights into cash flow and outstanding balances.
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of the accounts receivable process.
• Participate in month-end closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries related to accounts receivable.
• Support the finance team in various ad-hoc projects and analyses as needed to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards in all accounts receivable activities.
• Train and mentor junior staff members in accounts receivable processes and best practices.
• Contribute to the overall financial strategy of Anaergia by identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related financial role, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly as they relate to accounts receivable.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of organization.
• A proactive approach to work, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for results.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience in the renewable energy or waste management sectors is advantageous.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards relevant to accounts receivable.
• Knowledge of additional languages can be beneficial in communicating with diverse clients.
• Certification in accounting or finance (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
