Blockchain Developer (Algorithm)
Job description
Blockchain Developer (Algorithm)
About the role
This position defines the algorithms that govern how digital assets move and settle. You will design the core consensus mechanisms and refine data storage structures to support high frequency trading operations. The code you write directly affects when transactions finalize across different ledgers and jurisdictions. Success in this role requires balancing speed with absolute correctness when market volatility is high. You will work at the intersection of finance and distributed systems, ensuring reliability under pressure.
Key facts
What you will do
You will build ingestion pipelines that standardize order book updates from various exchanges in near real time. Your responsibilities include constructing low latency modules using systems programming, always guarding against memory safety issues under heavy load. You will review trade execution logic to ensure compliance with market rules, then adjust test suites for rare edge cases before deployment. You will deploy performance patches during active trading, coordinating closely with operations to select safe deployment windows. You will collaborate with quant researchers to test new strategies in prototype form and then integrate those ideas into production services. Your architectural work will define data structures for historical tick storage, enabling efficient replay for validation and analysis. You will optimize grid computing jobs to keep resource usage within strict budgets and thresholds. You will document internal library interfaces clearly so other teams can adopt components without requiring deep audits.
Requirements
You must bring three to five years of experience writing high performance code in systems level languages. You must understand how blockchains process transactions, including consensus, finality, and fork choice rules. You must have shipped services that handle money or value, with meticulous attention to precision and ordering. You must be prepared to debug live services using telemetry, logs, and core dumps at any hour of the day or night.
Nice to have
Experience with cryptographic libraries, peer to peer protocols, or formal verification methods will be valued.
Skills & tools
Your toolkit will include C++, Rust, Python, Linux, Git, MySQL, Redis, NodeJS, GraphQL, Protobuf, gRPC, and Kubernetes.
