What you'll do

Direct the user interface design process from initial concept through final implementation, guaranteeing that all visual outputs remain compelling and intuitive.

Manage the complete design lifecycle starting from discovery phases down to implementation, maintaining an equilibrium between velocity, excellence, and overall impact.

Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science divisions to ensure design choices support business targets and remain technically achievable.

Perform user research, execute usability tests, and examine data analytics to validate assumptions and continuously refine the design approach.

Facilitate design critiques and lead stakeholder discussions, clearly explaining the reasoning behind every design choice to align cross-functional teams.

Define and enforce visual design standards across the entire product suite to guarantee consistency and brand integrity in every interaction.

Translate complex business requirements into elegant, user-friendly interfaces that simplify the experience for our seventy million community members.

Mentor junior designers by providing constructive feedback and guiding them through the intricacies of high-quality product design delivery.

Coordinate with front-end engineers to ensure that design specifications translate accurately into functional, high-fidelity digital experiences that delight our users.

Drive iterative improvements based on user feedback and performance metrics, constantly elevating the overall quality and usability of the product.

Requirements

Possess five or more years of professional experience creating mobile-first digital products with a strong portfolio of impactful work.

Demonstrate exceptional visual design capabilities with a sharp attention to detail, clear information hierarchy, and inclusive accessibility practices.

Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities, effectively coordinating across departments and presenting design concepts with conviction and clarity.

Maintain a data-driven perspective, utilizing research findings and performance metrics to guide strategic decisions and evaluate outcomes.

Hold a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in design, human-computer interaction, or a closely related technical discipline.

Thrive in high-speed environments where rapid iteration is expected and proactive ownership of deliverables is standard practice.

Understand front-end development constraints and possibilities, allowing for realistic and efficient collaboration with engineering teams during execution.

Show a proven track record of influencing product direction through strategic thinking and alignment with overarching business objectives.

Nice to have

Background in motion design principles and the implementation of animated micro-interactions within digital interfaces.

Familiarity with gamified mechanics and how to integrate reward systems into user engagement flows.

Prior experience working within advertising technology or marketing technology sectors to understand advertiser needs.

Knowledge of modern design systems and component libraries to accelerate the design and development process.

Skills & tools

Proficiency in HTML for structuring and presenting content on the web.

Expertise in CSS for styling layouts and ensuring responsive visual presentation across devices.

Working knowledge of JavaScript to understand interactive behaviors and front-end logic.

Advanced skills in industry-standard design applications such as Figma and Sketch for creating wireframes and prototypes.

Familiarity with user research platforms and analytics software to inform design iterations with real user data.

Ability to use prototyping tools to create interactive, high-fidelity models that simulate final user experiences accurately.

Practical notes

This position requires full-time presence at our central Berlin office five days every week to maintain team momentum.

Our office is located in the heart of Berlin and is fully stocked to support daily collaboration.
