About the role

The Staff Program Manager, Technical Education owns the end to end lifecycle of technical learning programs within Airbnb, focusing on AI Education and broader engineering and data disciplines. This role is responsible for conceiving, designing, and executing high impact learning initiatives that enable technical excellence across the organization. You will synthesize complex technical concepts into cohesive learning experiences that drive measurable growth and development for engineers and technical professionals. The position requires close collaboration with internal subject matter experts, senior leaders, and external partners to ensure programming remains relevant and impactful in a rapidly evolving technical landscape. You will apply learning science best practices and use data to iterate on and improve the quality of learning experiences over time.

What you'll do

Develop program strategy and define objectives for technical learning programs including AI Enablement, AI Education, Machine Learning Education, Data Education, and Engineering Education in partnership with internal SMEs.

Design, create content, and project manage in-person and virtual technical learning events and forums for the Technology organization, aligning each initiative with unique business objectives and learner needs.

Create and maintain asynchronous and synchronous technical learning experiences, ensuring clear pathways for skill development and knowledge application.

Establish and nurture a thriving technical community by building connections across the organization through in-person and virtual events, executive stakeholder management, and engagement with professional contributors and SMEs.

Coordinate all logistics for technical learning and events, including course enrollment, materials distribution, scheduling, and participant support.

Implement measurement frameworks to track and analyze the effectiveness of learning initiatives, using data to drive decisions, optimizations, and experimentation.

Build strong relationships with senior business leaders across multiple geographies and functions to ensure learning programs support organizational priorities.

Partner with stakeholders, subject matter experts, senior leaders, external speakers, vendors, and consultants to design and deliver high quality learning solutions.

Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, tools, templates, and communication channels, enabling programs to scale efficiently.

Develop comprehensive project plans, documentation, and communication plans as part of disciplined program management and execution.

Create high quality training materials, slide decks, job aids, and other assets that support diverse learning formats and technical audiences.

Champion experimentation and continuous improvement by testing new formats, gathering feedback, and iterating on program design.

Ensure alignment between learning outcomes, business goals, and technical roadmaps to maximize the relevance and impact of educational offerings.

Act as a thought partner for cross functional teams, providing guidance on learning strategy and best practices for technical education.

Requirements

Bring 8+ years of experience guiding strategy and execution in a Technical Learning and Development program or learning content management role.

Possess direct prior experience in a technical field such as software engineering, data science, or related roles to build deep understanding of technical learners needs.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of technology trends and the ability to stay current in a rapidly shifting technical ecosystem.

Show proven ability to synthesize a range of concepts into unified learning experiences that are practical and engaging for technical audiences.

Have experience establishing systems and processes that improve program consistency, scalability, and reliability.

Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders.

Display confidence in managing multiple priorities and delivering high quality results in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Commit to using data and measurement to inform decisions and iterate on learning experiences for continuous improvement.

Nice to have

Experience with AI and machine learning concepts and their application in learning contexts.

Background in designing and facilitating in person workshops and large scale virtual learning programs.

Familiarity with learning management systems and content authoring tools relevant to technical education.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, California, United States.
