Programs Operations Lead, Growth Levers
Job description
About the role
The is responsible for owning the operational backbone that converts a growing portfolio of business levers into a coordinated, scalable execution model. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, ensuring that incentive programs, host-funded promotions, engagement and CRM initiatives, partnerships, and merchandising are synchronized rather than fragmented. You will own the systems and processes that translate pilot programs into scaled initiatives across global markets while maintaining clarity on cost, ownership, and timing. The hire will establish the connective tissue that allows disparate teams to operate from a single source of truth, reducing ambiguity and increasing accountability across the business. This is a hands-on execution role focused on governance, prioritization, and institutional knowledge management rather than high-level strategy or business ownership. By maintaining a clear roadmap and operating cadence, this role ensures that the organization can continue to scale efficiently even as responsibilities shift.
Key facts
What you'll do
You will manage one cross-lever roadmap and source of truth, consolidating incentives, host-funded promotions, engagement and CRM, partnerships, and merchandising campaigns across all regions into a single, coherent plan. You will build and operate the levers operating system, including defining the cadence, establishing launch readiness criteria, and maintaining a clear RACI across Global Markets, central growth marketing, product, and finance teams. You will establish the change-intake and sequencing process, creating a consolidated intake system for new campaigns and lever requests with clear rules for prioritization, approval, and conflict resolution when campaigns overlap in markets or timeframes. You will translate budget decisions into executable plans, tracking committed versus available spend across levers and markets, and rapidly converting funding decisions into roadmap changes while providing leadership with a live view of expenditures and expected returns. You will serve as the primary connector across a fragmented ownership map-including regional business operations, growth marketing, partnerships, and central product and merchandising teams-driving alignment and unblocking decisions so that there is one conversation rather than many parallel discussions. You will translate the levers playbooks and country plans into shipped campaigns, partnering with the playbook and country-planning owners to convert their strategy into standardized templates, coupon and efficiency-reference (ERF) libraries, launch checklists, and repeatable operations that scale consistently across markets. You will make performance visible by partnering with Advanced Analytics and FP&A on consistent tracking, post-mortems, and reporting so that performance across levers is clear, comparable, and easy to interpret for both operational and leadership audiences. You will own the launch governance checklist, ensuring readiness, owner alignment, and coordinated timing before go-live to reduce risk and prevent last-minute issues that could delay execution. Finally, you will maintain the single source of truth for the portfolio roadmap so that everyone can see what is shipping, who owns it, and when, and you will champion institutional memory by documenting decisions, owners, and outcomes so that the system continues to run smoothly when individuals are away or during periods of turnover.
Requirements
You must be based in San Francisco; relocation support is not offered for this role. You bring experience owning complex, cross-functional execution across multiple programs under tight timelines, demonstrating an ability to manage complexity without direct authority. You can translate strategy into sequenced roadmaps, budget decisions, and clear owner assignments, ensuring that work is not only planned but also resourced and governed. You thrive when coordinating priorities between regional teams, central functions, and partner groups, balancing local needs with global standards and objectives. You communicate clearly when explaining trade-offs, conflicts, and shifts in scope to diverse stakeholders, maintaining trust and alignment even when decisions are difficult or unpopular. You are comfortable operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where priorities can change quickly and clarity must be created from incomplete information. You have a strong bias for action, focusing on shipping campaigns and enabling execution rather than owning the full strategy behind each lever. You are rigorous in your approach to tracking, governance, and follow-through, ensuring that what is promised is delivered on time and visible to the business. You understand the importance of data in decision-making and are able to use analytics tools to monitor performance, surface issues early, and support continuous improvement. You respect the Airbnb culture of ownership, inclusion, and community impact, and you are committed to supporting hosts and guests through the programs you enable.
Nice to have
Experience growing marketplace or two-sided platforms in global markets is preferred, as this role requires an understanding of network effects and marketplace dynamics. Background with CRM, engagement, and promotional merchandising programs is also preferred, given the importance of these levers in the overall growth portfolio. Familiarity with how local go-to-market strategies intersect with global campaigns will help you align country-specific needs with enterprise-level objectives.
Skills & tools
Proficiency with Airbnb products and systems is essential, as this role requires deep familiarity with the platform that hosts the levers. You will use Google Workspace on a daily basis for communication, documentation, and collaboration across distributed teams. Experience with Figma may be required for reviewing and interpreting design assets related to campaigns and user flows. You will work within Jira to track progress, manage dependencies, and ensure that work is aligned with engineering and product timelines. SQL skills will help you query data, validate assumptions, and support basic analysis without relying solely on analytics teams. Amplitude or similar analytics tools will be used to assess performance, interpret user behavior, and guide decisions based on measurable outcomes rather than assumptions.
Practical notes
Hours: Full-time during standard local hours; some flexibility may apply.
Travel: None required; occasional in-person collaboration in San Francisco may occur.
Visa: Sponsorship considerations apply only to roles explicitly labeled as eligible; this role is not eligible for relocation support.
