About the role
As part of the Global Employee Relations Team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding both managers and employees through intricate workplace challenges. Your expertise will be essential in identifying trends that can enhance people practices within the organization. Collaborating with various departments such as Legal, Compliance, Talent Business Partners, and HR Business Partners, you will help maintain a positive company culture while ensuring that outcomes are fair and compliant with legal standards. This role demands an individual who can effectively manage multiple priorities and critically assess existing methodologies.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Act as the primary resource for managers and employees regarding compliance issues, company policies, and internal procedures.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on conducting performance improvement discussions and addressing misconduct.
- Supervise disciplinary actions to ensure they comply with local labor laws and are documented appropriately.
- Manage the termination process by adhering to correct procedures and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed to minimize the risk of labor disputes.
- Conduct impartial investigations into employee complaints, identifying trends that can lead to process improvements.
- Monitor case timelines and deliverables, keeping all relevant stakeholders updated while maintaining comprehensive records.
- Analyze performance management data and previous misconduct cases to recommend changes in policies, training enhancements, and improved management strategies.
- Serve as an HR Business Partner for a designated department, providing actionable insights related to workforce dynamics.
- Lead initiatives to automate and enhance processes related to performance management, offboarding, and other relevant workflows.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field is required.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in Employee Relations or as an HR Business Partner/Generalist is essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of employment law, complex investigations, disciplinary procedures, terminations, workforce reductions, and handling high-risk employee matters across various jurisdictions or business units.
- Proven experience advising senior leadership on sensitive employee-related issues while balancing legal risks, employee experience, and organizational culture.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, particularly in high-pressure and confidential situations.
- Ability to work autonomously while providing strategic insights into case management and employee relations risks.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and constructively challenge senior leaders.
- High standards for accuracy, accountability, reliability, ethics, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adapt to changes and competing demands in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in extracting insights from employee relations data to inform policy, process, and training improvements.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills for effectively presenting risks, recommendations, and case strategies to senior stakeholders across various regions and functions.
