What you'll do
- Independently oversee and drive audit engagements through every phase, from scoping to completion.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to two junior audit team members, fostering their professional development.
- Conduct thorough audits for a diverse mix of commercial enterprises and non-profit institutions spanning several industry verticals.
- Manage a high volume of simultaneous audit projects, maintaining quality standards despite fluctuating seasonal demands.
- Leverage specialized platforms such as AuditFile and AuditSight to execute detailed testing and documentation procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the internal tax department to coordinate combined audit and tax service offerings.
- Perform a variety of additional accounting and assurance duties, including but not limited to tax preparation and advisory work.
- Establish a disciplined communication rhythm with audit leadership, updating progress every other business day.
- Commit to continuous professional growth by studying emerging audit standards, best practices, and technological innovations.
- Evaluate and adopt new tools that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the overall client experience in audit engagements.
Requirements
- Hold a current and active Certified Public Accountant license in good standing.
- Bring a minimum of five years of substantive audit experience gained within a recognized mid-to-large public accounting firm.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to manage and deliver complex audit engagements with minimal direct oversight.
- Show a track record of successfully supervising and guiding less experienced accounting professionals.
- Possess a deep and comprehensive knowledge of audit methodologies applicable to a wide range of business sectors.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency with audit management software, with prior experience using AuditFile or comparable platforms being highly advantageous.
- Communicate effectively in English, both in written reports and verbal discussions with clients and team members.
- Display a strong capacity to adjust workflows and strategies in response to new technologies and automated processes.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information and client data.
- Show resilience and discipline in managing multiple priorities and meeting firm deadlines consistently.

- Experience overseeing a varied portfolio of clients with differing sizes, complexities, and regulatory requirements.

- Familiarity with tools such as Claude, DataSnipper, Karbon, AccountGroove, Liscio, Gruntworx, ProSeries, AuditFile, and AuditSight.
