What you'll do
- Conduct detailed inspections of products and services to ensure adherence to established quality standards and specifications.
- Develop and implement inspection protocols and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to identify quality issues and develop solutions.
- Utilize various inspection tools and techniques to assess product quality, including visual inspections, measurements, and testing methodologies.
- Document inspection findings and prepare comprehensive reports outlining results, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
- Train and mentor junior inspection staff on best practices and quality standards to foster a culture of quality within the organization.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Analyze inspection data to identify patterns and areas for improvement, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to address quality concerns and ensure that materials meet specifications prior to use in production.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact quality assurance practices.
- Assist in the development of quality assurance training programs for employees to enhance overall quality awareness within the company.
- Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) based on inspection findings and customer feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, quality assurance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection or assurance within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and relevant industry standards, such as ISO 9001 or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, gauges, and testing machinery.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions based on findings.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey inspection results to various stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Nice to have
- Certification in quality inspection or related fields (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector, Six Sigma Green Belt).
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis software.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements specific to the industry, such as FDA or ISO standards.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a quality assurance team.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with quality management software and tools for tracking inspection results and quality metrics.
- Familiarity with CAD software or other design tools may be beneficial for understanding product specifications.
